MAPPA - Information for families Families of Serious and Sex Offenders Briefings: This briefing has arisen out of an advisory group, which is part of a project funded by Pilgrim Trust and which involves family members and voluntary and community groups. MAPPA Guidance 2009 MAPPA are the statutory arrangements for managing specified sexual and violent offenders. MAPPA is not a statutory body in itself but is a mechanism through which agencies can better discharge their statutory responsibilities and protect the public in a co-ordinated manner. Sections 325-327 of this act are directly related to assessing risks posed by sexual or violent offenders. They include dealing with arrangements for assessing risks posed by certain offenders and explain how to assess if a person falls under this guidance. Sections 325-327 of this act set out the provisions under which the MAPPA have been established.
