9.5 Police


The police have national guidance and policies provided by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) that are very clear in relation to domestic violence. There is local variation in adoption and implementation across different forces in England.

The needs of children should always be considered in any police response to domestic violence and integral to risk management.
